Hello!

I'm Julia. I am a foodie, water gal, a lover of our beautiful planet, and I'm a photo taker, currently based in Sacramento and San Luis Obispo, CA.

I graduated from Cal Poly SLO with a BS + MS in Civil Engineering, and by day work locally as a water resources engineer.

Contrary to belief based on my last name, I'm team Nikon! I love working with natural light, and have been taking photos, professionally and for fun, for over a decade. Everything I know about photography has been self taught.

There's something about capturing moments that mean the most to people that I keep coming back to... I believe that photography has an inherently intimate component to it. As someone who is definitely more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it, my goal with any portrait is to bring out and capture the authentic essence in people.
