Hello!

I'm Julia. I am a Trader Joe's floral enthusiast, a coffee drinker, a lover of our beautiful planet, and I'm a photo taker, currently based in Sacramento and San Luis Obispo, CA.

I am a recent grad from Cal Poly SLO & am lucky to continue locally as a water resources engineer.

Contrary to belief based on my last name, I'm team Nikon! I love working with natural light whenever possible. My current favorite gear combo is the Nikon d750 and Sigma 35mm 1.4 ART lens.

What began as an interest has turned into something that I don't ever want to stop doing: capturing moments that mean the most to people. I'm in love with the idea that a little light painting gives us the capacity to be brought back to moments, even if it’s just for a few seconds. There's something about learning new things each time I shoot and meeting new people in the process that makes me fall back in love with photography each time I have the chance to pick up my camera. Everything I know about photography has been self taught; I'm a continuous work in progress as I learn how to best capture people & places. (a lot of binge watching Youtube tutorials at 2am)
